Adventure

l’Oceanogràfic

Valencia has Europe's largest aquarium: l'Oceanogràfic, housed in a futuristic building. In large water tanks (a total of 42 million litres of water), life in the various seas of the world has been imitated. Thousands of marine animals live in these tanks, including sharks, dolphins, walruses and even a white whale.

A highlight is the underwater restaurant, where you can have a drink or something to eat, while thousands of fish and other sea creatures swim by.

There is also a dolphinarium, where dolphin and sea lion shows are held.

A separate section is dedicated to the life and work of Spanish researchers in the South Pole. There are not only pictures of the South Pole expeditions, but also a fully equipped base camp. Imagine the circumstances: strong wind and ice cold.

In the Photo Aqua shop you can buy spectacular underwater photos and posters. For families with young children, the Valencia aquarium is one of the recommended sights in Valencia.
