Traveling to Valencia

Valencia Airport is located 8 kilometers from the city and has connections to all major European cities. Destinations include Brussels, Paris, Rome, London and Amsterdam. Larger airlines that use the airport are Lufthansa and Iberia but there are also many low cost airlines. Ryanair, EasyJet, Vueling and Wizz Air all fly to Valencia. Transavia also offers flights to and from Amsterdam. Another airport in the vicinity is that of Alicante. The connections to the city are good. Travelling by bus and taxi is possible. The metro, taxi or a car ride is the quickest, within 15 minutes the city centre is reached. You'll soon discover the unique sights of Valencia.

Public transport in Valencia

Like most Spanish cities, the centre is always the Playa de Ayuntamiento, or the town square. Most buses stop here and the train station (Estacion de Nord) is also within walking distance. From the square the city can be explored further, by train or bus. There are several buses to one of the many beaches and the train goes to Alicante and Murcia. The timetable can be requested via Renfe. In addition, Valencia has a metro network, Metrovalencia has four underground lines and a tram line. The newest underground line connects the airport with the city centre. Buses in Spain are very comfortable and almost always have air conditioning. Many large cities are connected and most of them can be reached by buses from Alsina Graells.

Access by car

Valencia is a busy city and it takes a lot of time to find your feet in the narrow streets and alleys. It is therefore most convenient to take the bus or metro to the city centre to visit the area later on with a rental car. All major sights, such as the Ciudad de las ciencias, are easily accessible by bus. Going to the beach by car is not wise: the hustle and bustle, the heat and the unclear signs (there are about five beaches) can be exchanged for a nice air-conditioned bus. Cities in the area that you can visit by car include Murcia and Alicante.
